OVERVIEW

A large Kunisada series with scenes from different Kabuki plays, desinged during the years 1856, 1857 and 1858.
The text of the cartouches includes always the play title, a name (name of the author of the play?), a date (year and month, date of first performance ?) and some role names.

The same print design has been used for a series named "Tosei tori no ..zuki kyogen" - Present plays of the xth month of 1861 (tori = year of the bird = 1861).
